Her mind began to lose
connection with her body

she touched her numb face, lips
her body was
so  heavy

asleep

as her mind
staggered in the heavens
over rooftops, far away

the creeping crescendo
of metalic sound
resonated with her heart
keeping time with her pulse
drowning in the roar
the buzz throbbed in her mind

that crazy din
inside her head.

the electricity worked its way
through her body
scalding her veins

fluid leaked out the corner of her eyes
trickling out her ears
and nose

her body ached
every joint pounded

her head - like a marionette
bobbed and swiveled on her neck
hardly able to lift itself up

somewhere
far away
she heard the echo
of her childhood

now distorted and ancient
and barely
a whisper
